A Doctor And The King of Prophet Of Words

Dr. Oladapo, a psychiatrist, started his writing when he heard a voice in his head as it said that he would heal people with his words instead of a knife.

Dr. Oladapo. R. Osuntokun  lives and practices  in Scranton, Pennsylvania's as one of the foremost psychiatrists.

He was born in Nigeria and immigrated to the USA many years ago.

Having trained as an orthopedic surgeon, by the time he got on the plane, he had an Epiphany. It was the voice of God gently instructing him about this impending mission.

The voice was reassuring but gently instructing him that he would no longer heal people with a "knife but the words. Fast forward till now, he uses the words in various ways, including his current mission as an Author, a Psychiatrist, and a Pastor.

He never   imagined he would become a Pastor but now, he is the Word of God Parish pastor in Luzerne, PA. A Pentecostal Spiritual filled Bible-based Church.

He is also a guest/ visiting Professor at Clark's Summit University, where he has  taught African and World Religion since 2017 till  early 2020.

He is a board-certified pediatric and Adolescent Psychiatrist and also  a board-certified General and Adult Psychiatrist.

He have been an Associate Professor of Psychiatric Medicine at the Geissinger College of Medicine in Scranton, Pa since 2007 and has won the Top Doctor award for the past several years.

He has been included in The Marquis "who is who in America"   as a biographical listee since last year.

Which writers — working today do you admire most?

Sarah Vaughan who wrote Anatomy of a Scandal and Julie Owen Moylan who wrote –That Green eyed Girl. She wrote her first book at age 60.

What do you read when you’re working on a book? And what kind of reading do you avoid while writing?

I try to avoid reading that will confuse me or shade what I’m trying to accomplish. It is tough to draw the line between researching and looking for Inspiration versus making your work as accurate as possible. When I err, I do it on the side of making my work as Authentic as possible.

What genres do you especially enjoy reading? 

Christian fiction, Adventures, actions Classics and Inspirational

Who is your favorite fictional hero or heroine? 

Rocky balboa novel, he just never dies very persistent and a goal-getter. I have read the book and seen all the movies. Each time I did, I learned something new..

What book are you planning to read next?

Freakonomics: Steven D Levitt and Stephen J Dubner. I will like to know the truth behind various Social issues.

What books and authors have impacted your writing career?

Of Course, William Shakespeare- all of his books from the Merchant of Venice to Macbeth and Julius Cesar, etc., and Daniel Fagunwa’s books

What kind of reader were you as a child?   

I was a voracious reader who read any sensible thing in prints all day and all night. I used one eye to read physics and chemistry and tried as much as possible to be on top of my class in elementary and high school, but I also used the other eye to read different types of other books for leisure and knowledge. My father used to call me a “paper Tiger.”

What books do you find yourself returning to again and again?

I enjoyed Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson

One day a bigger kid was picking on another kid at recess. While on the playground, the bully decided to have another showdown with the little guy again. At the flashing of the warning sign, five of them assembled and surrounded the bully. They did not say anything but just stared him down. The guy felt ashamed and overpowered, got the message, apologized, and moved on.

Excerpts from my oncoming book “Keys to the troubled soul” -We have all dealt with the trouble and hardship of various types of misfortunes in our lifetime. Rejection, losses, accidents, injuries, illnesses, and failures can create severe troubles in our souls. The most common effect of misfortunes is the overwhelming nature, which leaves you discouraged, disappointed, depressed and disillusioned.
