What moves you most in a work of literature?
The development of the characters and the plot moves me the most. Connecting with the characters on an emotional level with a good story line envelopes me with what I am reading.
What genres do you especially enjoy reading?
My favorite genres are fantasy, historical time travel, fiction and books on personal growth.
What book are you planning to read next?
I am currently reading the Thrown of Glass series by Sarah Maas and am currently on the second book, it is quite captivating.
What kind of reader were you as a child?
I was an avid reader as a child and enjoyed books like the Little House on the Prairie series, A Wrinkle in Time, and Charlottes Web. I was never without a book in hand.
What books do you find yourself returning to again and again?
Personal growth books to include “The Master of Love” by Don Miguel Ruiz and “The Power of Now” by Eckert Tolle.
What inspired you to write your book?
Many people throughout the world are struggling with self-esteem which not only impacts themselves but their relationships. My book encapsulates 30 years of knowledge and wisdom and includes the strategies I provide to my clients which I also wanted to share with as many people as possible. The skills presented in my book are invaluable and essential for living a happy and meaningful life.
What is the most important life skill that needs to be learned?
Learning how to love yourself and feel worthy is the most important life skill and the first stepping block to navigating all other relationship skills. It is important to remember that self-worth is not something that needs to be earned, you were born with it and no matter where you are in your life or what you have done, you matter.
What is most important to having a successful relationship?
The foundation for a successful relationship is mutual respect, trust, communication and accountability. If one of these pillars is missing within the foundation the relationship will dissolve.
What makes your book unique?
My book is unique in that it is written as a fairy tale narrative to make it fun and easy to learn. The skills and strategies outlined in the book are also laced with original and relatable analogies that I developed over the years.

Testimonials, Praise
I have read a lot of self-help books. Many very insightful, many filled with empty platitudes that indulged the author, but did little for me. After reading Laura Garrett's clever book, I was impressed at how accessible her story was and helpful the tools were that she offered. I have read this book twice and will continue to use it as a workbook when my spouse and I get into troubled waters and forget how important compassion, empathy and honest communication is to a healthy relationship. Thank you, Laura, for putting your thoughts together. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to think honestly about how they can have a healthier relationship with their partner as well as themselves.
I found this book offers many helpful techniques to work through different kinds of relationships. The author writes in an easy to understand an enjoyable style.
