 A Controversial Author Ready To Make A Stand

Medusa Stone’s writing expresses her view on the matter of misuse of BDSM. She takes her passion to explore the dark nature of humanity and bring light to the human rights.

Medusa Stone is a novelist and poet born in Spain, winner of the Humanitarian Literary Award, international blogger, and journalist.

Through her novels, Medusa Stone explores the misuse of BDSM as an excuse for sexual abuse, with vulnerable characters in the hands of powerful men and organizations. Much of his writing explores the dark nature of humanity, shining a light on human rights violations, and enacting change one story at a time.

What’s the last great book you read?

You’re organizing a party. Which two authors, dead or alive, do you invite?

Viggo Mortensen and Charles Dickens.

Which writers — working today do you admire most?

Anne Rice, James Patterson, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Cormac McCarthy, Paulo Coelho… Too many to mention.  

Who are your favorite writers? Are there any who aren’t as widely known as they should be, whom you’d recommend in particular?

Dusk Peterson, author of The Eternal Dungeon series, is one of my favorite authors. His writing is daring, innovating, and psychologically brilliant. I consider every book a dark, mind-bending masterpiece that should be more recognized than it currently is. 

What do you read when you’re working on a book? And what kind of reading do you avoid while writing?

I read books in my same genre, to assess the competition, analyze what appeals to my ideal readers are receive inspiration. Some of my most read authors are Cara Dee, Ashlyn Drewek, and Adara Wolf.

I usually avoid stressful material.

What kind of reader were you as a child? 

An avid reader! My greatest inspirations were “E.T. the Extraterrestrial” by William Kotzwinkle, “Ivanhoe” by Walter Scott and “Frankenstein” by Mary Shelley. All adventurous and fantastic.

Which writer would you want to write your life story?

Carlos Ruiz Zafón, a contemporary Spanish author able to mix real scenarios with the wildest variety of characters, making each story intriguing, mysterious and exciting, while their characters are relatable and down to earth.

What books do you find yourself returning to again and again?

Books like The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.

What would you like to accomplish with your books?

I would like to raise awareness for all the victims of sexual abuse and sex trafficking, whilst also teaching my readers to be compassionate and not to judge, by showing them how survival can push people to their limits and force them to make the choices that few would understand.
